Erpacrife is more than a brand, it is a project.
Four fellow students at the Alba School of Enology, the institution par excellence for the training of wine technicians in the region of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato, which since 1881 has been gathering the experiences and dreams of the young people who will make their way in the world of wine.
Erik Dogliotti (Castagnole delle Lanze), Paolo Stella (Costigliole d’Asti), Cristian Calatroni (Montecalvo Versiggia), and Federico Scarzello (Barolo) are four quality producers in their regions, with renowned wineries and independent quality projects, but they are also four friends who shared a dream: not to loose sight of each other after their school years, and keep having fun together and experiment in order to continue and deepen their experience.
In 2000, as soon as they finished their studies, ready to enter the world of work with their family businesses, they decided at the same time to pursue an independent project, which none of the four wineries was yet developing: the production of a classic method sparkling wine. And, of course, they could only start with the most interesting challenge, which united the four production areas: a 100% Nebbiolo Sparling Champenoise Method.
Just 500 bottles in 2000, today their project not only continues, but it has expanded: the brand produces only sparkling wines. Faithful to the origins, the fame of their rosé made from Nebbiolo has continued over the years, to which they have added a sparkling wine made from native white grapes and a Classic Method made from Moscato Bianco: a tribute to the history of this region and its tradition of sparkling wine making.
Between tradition and experimentation, wineries with generations of experience and new projects, the Erpacrife brand can now boast a young history all its own, which makes it one of the great sparkling wines of the region.
